have found this wheels in old barn, does the hand brake was connected just to one rear whell?

Nice find!
Some comments:
- The one brake assembly / back plate you show a picture of - is a FRONT brake, and the wire is for mechanical wire brakes (which means the brakes are from a pre-04.1950 DeLuxe or a pre-1963 Standard Beetle)
- On mechanical brake cars, one wire go to each of the 4 wheels. The handbrake attaches to the same 4 wires/cables. There is no separate cable for the handbrake on the rear wheels.
- Some of the rims/wheels you show a picture of - are Opel wheels. (Lemmertz supplied the same dimension to Opel as well, but the bolt holes and center pressing are different). |
