Hi all
Just getting back into VWs
Have a rail and a 74 Beetle
Getting a 1968 Autostick and another 74
Plus another four seater rail

Idk. OP is in Tombstone. So it might just be surface rust from the sun killing the paint.

I had an old Ford Ranger that lived it's entire live in the Phoenix area. The roof and hood were surface rusted from the paint being fried off. But the undercarriage looked almost new.

How does the rest of the car look OP?

One side of the floor is rusted but otherwise in very good shape. Mostly untouched and original. Motor is frozen but no sign of rust.

Rusted out floor pan + frozen motor seems to be signs of it getting water intrusion.

Frozen motor is probably piston rusted to cylinder wall:

Not too big a deal just clean up the case, replace the P/C and good to go!

That would be a very desirable project here in Ohio. I would imagine the airheads out my way would clear it, sort the mechanicals and roll it just like that.
