Hi everyone,

Quick question. Can someone provide the angle that the frame horns is compared to the main chassis rails. Specifically the end of them past the round tube cross brace towards the motor. From the attached diagram it's hard to tell of they are parallel or slightly pointing down. This measurement is if you are looking at it from the side. Appreciate your help.

I think there were a number of changes to that area throughout the barndoor era. No idea if the angle changed, but it might be helpful to know what year you are looking for information about.

i saw your signature. i didnt want to assume the year in question. seemed better to clarify.

if im understanding barndoors correctly there was a design change between mine (54) and yours. the parts arent the same so measuring it wont help you out. someone else will probably know the answer. glhf

They are definitely pointed down to the rear. not parallel at all. Can't specify the exact angle, but could take measurements. Please consider looking at my build thread which has some discussions ( along with pics) on this topic. starting a little down on this page

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=...p;start=40

I think the build year changes is more about the reinforcement brackets, than the actual position and angle.
