Can anyone help me in finding out about getting the Crome metal and rubber for my 1949 bug. Not sure if the 1952 American will work

If your '49 has the larger glass fixed windows the later deluxe rubbers with bright trim will not fit. You will have to change all of the glasses. All of the body apertures are the same for any year split.

VW Beetle fixed window glasses used before the introduction of the deluxe trim were larger and the rubber seal section correspondingly thinner.

If you do change the glasses please don't forget your friends with earlier cars may be appreciative of the old size glasses.

A 1949 should not have any chrome in any of the window rubbers.

Buy the correct non-chrome rubbers with 45degree cuts from - BBT.

I recently bought a new windshield for my 1950 11A and am using a 1957 deluxe rubber gasket when installing the glass, because I already have it ,but will not use the windshield trim - I have done that before - I am more into what works, than that original stuff - z
