Fast forward to today and I found a shorty wb buggy frame to use.

All my wheels are 4 lug, so adaptors are ordered, and then I can drop the body over the rear end and determine body height.

The steering mount bar needs to move forward to also support the body. I believe I can use the old roll cage mount to creat the new driver rollbars.
