Does anyone know where I could find new firewall seals for a '72 Bus? Thought I'd ask before I figure something else out. Two part numbers: 211 801 191A, 211 801 197B. Thank You

In Home depot in the weatherstripping section? _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

I’d run a bead of RTV and slap the firewall on wet _________________ Lead Mechanic: San Diego Air and Space Museum

Won't that make it stupidly hard to remove later?
To the original question I have never seen this seal for sale anywhere. The weatherstripping solution can work well. _________________ SL |

Good question, but no. RTV never hardens. The firewall call be removed no problem. Another place I use clear RTV is to seal the dog house exhaust ducts. Tape the gap off and run a bead to fill it. Lick your finger and smooth it out. Then pull off the tape. Dries overnight and can be painted if you want. Anybody that’s ever installed a toilet should understand. Minus the finger licking part. _________________ Lead Mechanic: San Diego Air and Space Museum

the weather stripping does work well. I was looking for the same seal last year. I ended up using 1/2 inch weatherstrip with a single side adhesive back. worked perfect. |
