Until today I believed 25 hp beetle engines were like this: 1938 to 1942 1.0L and 1942 to 1953 1.1L.
Today a guy told me he has a 1952 beetle and the correct displacement for his 25hp engine is 850cc.
Can someone tell me the correct displacements for the 25hp engines with the years they were built in? |

1952 850cc -he's having a laugh! - as we say.
you can scroll through the owner's manuals for most years here

they give the engine specs... _________________ "we're here on Earth to fart around" kurt vonnegut

850cc would be correct if only 3 of the 4 barrels were fitted! |

Yep, I thought he was crazy, plus I saw this forum about an 850cc engine but with only 2 pistons: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=508718
He says Chris Vallone made him his engine and said 850cc was the right displacement, but in the technical data of the 52 manual says 1131cc. He is wrong then.
Thanks for the clarification. |
