Recently picked this up - been browsing the forum for a bit so finally figured it was time to add my ride. First time VW Owner - First time Air Cooled Owner as well. Not new to mid-rear engine cars as I have owned a few over the years. Picked this up to be my backup show car and I wanted something from my birth year. I have a thing for Yellow "Sports" Cars and snagged this as soon as I saw it.
I swapped out the lights and added the eyebrows - working on the FRUNK wood flooring now for shows....
Seats will be swapped out soon, been on back order and end of Jan was the last update i had.
Upgraded the stereo already with 10.1in Android Floating Screen and Two 8in Sundown Audio subs with infinity speakers and Sundown Audio Amps
Sponsored by Prosport Gauges and have all new gauges coming in this week. My next project
Looking to lower it after that, then ill work on the engine to finish off the build.
Live in Arizona - so summers might be fun, I currently own 2 Imported RHD Cars from japan as well as my other toys.....

Welcome to TheSamba. Very cool looking car. You'll find there's two very distinct types of Karmann Ghia fans here, those of us that like originality, and those who like mods. Although I wouldn't consider owning a modified car, I have to admit, yours is amazing.

Love the color & paint scheme!
The Android screen and lighting is really slick!
My first Ghia is slightly modified. As with your 72, it came highly unoriginal.
My convertible is bone stock. I appreciate both.
The bottom line is do what makes you happy.

Thanks - I can't leave anything stock - the restomod was already started on this one so I want to finish that off!

This weekends update - made a wood floor setup for the Frunk - Have a big show this weekend so had to get something done before then. Ill be working on installing all my gauges and LEDs in the next couple weeks before my next big show.

Yeah I'm doing the bay last - ill do a few things here and there to spruce it up along the way and then in the end do a full build on the engine - I'm in the middle of building my other show car as well - its gonna take priority as soon as a part gets here from Japan. I have a polishing sponsorship to it should be shinny when done

New seats installed - Procar by Scat - took almost 4 months but worth the wait. I hated the racing seats they were way to big for this car.

Started working on installing my gauges and things on my center console. Adding oil pressure - oil temp - fuel level and volt meter - Dual Port USB charger and switch panel ill be using for my halo's and other things

Thanks - the Racing Seats were scat seats too - its how i stumbled on the ones i bought trying to research those so i could sell them..haha
I live in Phoenix AZ - so always lots of nice cars at our shows. Especially anything "Old School" related - I'm a Import guy by heart so I do a lot of those type shows. It will do nicely there I am sure - My other car is my bread winner at the shows though..hahaa

My new Forever Sharp Steering Wheel came in and got it installed - Love the new look! I'll be working on replacing my Speedo and Clock with Prosport Gauges soon.

I have secured a 1915 Engine build that should be ready to install in about 4 weeks
I should have it lowered on a nice static setup by Airkewld around mid year
Just got all my pieces for my new battery setup. I'll try to get this installed tomorrow
