IMDB does not list the filming location, but in another scene it reminds me of Chatsworth in the northern San Fernando Valley in Southern California.

Early Notchback on the Autobahn, German TV documentary from 1964 "Es geht ums Geld" (It's about money). Appears to be an "S" due to the chrome insert on the license plate housing.

I haven't learned how to post pics yet, but Mix Tape (2021) on Netflix has a fair amount of footage of a beater late Square towards the end of the movie. Interior, engine noise, gear grinding too! Spoiler alert: A fully grown man is driving three teen girls to a bar to meet a rockstar. Sounds super sketchy if it was real life (papa bear Dad here), but fits in the context of the movie just fine.

mcmat, the process for adding photos is explained here- https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6

I recently started using the "batch load" feature for loading more than 1 photo from a single episode to my gallery. After editing the photo for various details, I save it using a photo name with the show/movie title and episode in my computer drive; using a JPEG file type. When I'm ready to upload, I click on the "choose files" box, then do a search for one of the key words of the file name within the drive. At that point I select the ones I want to load from that episode.

You can find details on the episode such as the year, season & episode, the cast, etc. from IMDB.com. which makes it easier for others to find them on YouTube and do the VW spotting.

I just saw this today on Comet (free broadcast tv) It was Godzilla vs Megalon, and the yellow fasty played a good part, being in some hilarious chase scenes. There is also a dune buggy in the film which really surprised me but it was made in '76. It will be on again 1/30, if anyone is interested.
