Sorry for the long lag between posts.

Got the front spindles and brakes hung, man those rotors are heavy. May not run them but they’re there for now.

Brought a few things to my local powder coater and I’m pretty happy with the results.

Found this Magneto Scintilla/Vertex Magneto on marketplace and took a chance on it. It’ll need some clean up but it’ll fit the bill.

Buddy came through last night with a close ratio box we traded a stock box for. So at least I got something to work with, with my transaxle builder to either 5 speed it or stretch 4 gear out for regular cruising an the first 3 gears for racing since all we have here is 1/8 mile.
That’s it for now.

Still chipping away.

Reworked the clutch hook to do away with the wear point. Should work just fine. Knock the pedal assembly together while I was at.

During a&p school, I used a turret style flaring tool and it was nice.. easy to use for sure and I think about getting one every time I hand flare stuff... Your hardlines look very good! Don’t usually see anyone custom building brake or fuel lines in this side of the forums but it’s one of the things that really sets a build apart.
I want to mention though from the steering box photos at least one of your worm shaft bearings is worn out. You can see a concentric line going all the way around the lower 1/4 of the ball keeper/retainer from it bottoming out on the race. Might not be worth the time to get back in to the box right now, but down the road if you run in to any issues adjusting the steering out, I’d plan on a set of bearings. They are not inexpensive but Heimlich here has some.

I saw that and there doesn’t appear to be an “edge” to hang on and the bearings are smooth. I test fitted back together and no issues so far. Thanks for the heads up though and I’ll definitely keep that in mind.

From memory And photos I had a tach mount that sandwiched the defroster vent. Now obviously the 64 I’m building doesn’t have that vent so mounting will be a bit different but with the same result. I’ve included the pics of the old car I built and the new mount for the ‘64.

Took a little break from the chassis and worked on the seat frames. Had to repair one of the hinge points. I used one from a set of chopped up frames. Not a big deal just added here.

Round two on the seat frames for the 64 sun roof. Had to replace another hinge stud. This is why I try not to throw anything out. Made the lower support/upholstery slot from a piece of conduit and got it fitted. Also had to make up a few upholstery anchors. Pretty crude but I believe they’ll work. Little clean up and they’ll be off to the powder coaters.

Moving on.

A little setback but I feel better about. I decided to scrap the disc brakes and go back to drums on the front. Not looking for opinion or debate, I am happy about the change and that’s what matters.

Thanks for looking.

Made some adapters in order to mount my Competition Engineering adjustable shocks on the link pin front end. I rams summits version on my 66 some 20 years ago. Last picture is my 66 pan from 20 years ago with the summit adjustable shocks installed.

Any forward progress is progress, right?

Got the front studs and bearing races knocked in and couldn’t help myself and had to take a couple of pics.

Also scooped up this 1-3/4” exhaust of unknown origin at a decent price. Don’t think it’s Phoenix but not really sure who made it. Needs to be blasted and recoated but that’s way down the road. Next is get the type 3 rear drums snouts cut down, studs knocked in and then all four off to powder. Gonna be a roller soon. 🙏

Picture dump. Decided I wanted to put a roll bar together for the 64. I used conduit to make the down bar templates and took those to a buddy who has a tubing bender. I think it came out decent.

Not many pics of this update but I got the sunroof working a functional. I figured I would do all this before paint so as not to skin anything up during fitting. Now to pull it all out. Rolling Eyes

I wonder if I’m the only one looking at this thread. Rolling Eyes

Anyway I decided to to take a $50 decklid and turn it into a convertible decklid because I’m poor boying some of this stuff and just can’t justify the money it’s taking to pickup a very lid when I can make one myself.

Nice progress! The sunroof looks like a nice seal. Have you gotten the felt weather stripping that goes around the perimeter of the sunroof opening?

Very nice work on the decklid! I bought one on TS for my '66 a few years ago that had the vents grafted as well.

Nice work on the decklid. I have the seals but won’t put them in until after paint.

And we got a roller. Close ratio gear box is in but I think at some point down the road I will be swapping to a 5 speed.
