I had to disassemble the EMPI hand brake for powder coating.

Then it was time to reassemble it and mount it on the e-brake base.

Laughing

1.5 hours of round files & small flat files to get that to work smoothly and as it should.

Wouldn't give up a single minute of it - but - sometimes it is surprising just how "off" so much of this stuff is.

Something to consider when having any part powder coated or an exhaust coating is the thickness of the material being applied. It is best to always grind, sand, and file for these clearances before being coated.

Nice heads up! I'll be doing my 1⅝ heater boxes and exhaust soon. Thanks

Speaking of such things. EMPI changed the size of the cable ferrel at the lever end of things so some Y tubes will need to be drilled out to get them to seat properly.

And, yes, allowing for the thickness of powder coating is a great idea - but this went way, way beyond that issue.
