Good morning,
last autumn we went to the Airmighty-Show in Enschede/ Netherlands by driving my 1967 Euro spec 1500 Beetle, equipped with some mild vintage tuning. Itīs German language, but there are English subtitley available. Have fun!

It's a really nice car, euro 67s 1500 are unique.
Around 4 RHD models only made it to Malta, knowing only that 2 still exist, as the majority where 1200 or 1300s according to the year being imported.
Its got some impressive acceleration.
The only modifications are the twin carbs and exhaust? Cam is standard?
Thanks. |

The cam ist standard, but the exhaust is a CSP stainless steel, there is a high performance Bosch 6 Volt coil and a Porsche dizzy.
But the way highest increase of power was a real proper adjustment job on the roller dynamometer. Itīs always so impressive how much hidden power you can release just by a good adjustment job.
Anette, who owns the IOZ-workshop in Koblenz / Germany, is the lady with the right equipment and the magic hands. Not cheap, but man, what a great job she is doing! _________________ http://www.samba.vewib.de/ |

Fun video!
When your are going over the car for us in the shop the subtitles say that you increased the cubic from 15 to 1600. So is this car a 1600 single port now?
The car is in amazing shape and Im glad you guys had a fun trip!
Thanks for sharing! _________________ __________

Yes, itīs still the original case, but now with 1600 ccm. So we used old TDE single port manifolds. Sure doubble port would have been better performancewise, but the "vintage rule" in this project was: every tuning effort we made COULD have been done in 1967 too.
It was a more "philosophical" way. _________________ http://www.samba.vewib.de/ |

So what is the approximate output bhp with these period 1967 modifications?
Thanks.
The exhaust note on the highway is superb! |

Great looking car Florian, what a lucky man you are!
I had one years ago originally sold in Holland but not nearly as nice...

Oh, I really donīt know how much bhp the Bus now has. I jsut remember that there was a significant difference on Anetteīs "before" and "after" diagramm. _________________ http://www.samba.vewib.de/ |

I really do like this savanna-beige. It gives the car a sophistcated touch and matches the skinny trims so nicely. Itīs amazing how impressed people are by this uncommon color. _________________ http://www.samba.vewib.de/ |
