Current challenge: Your VW powered Kit car at a VW shop in a building built by Frank Lloyd Wright , with a 2022 banner in the background.
The Historic Park Inn opened as the Park Inn Hotel in 1910 in Mason City, Iowa, designed by FLW.
Can we move on now?!

This one is for folks whose car is not drivable, but still want to participate:
Next challenge: Your VW in disassembled condition.
There are probably many, so the winner will be the car MOST disassembled that is (1) posted during the next five days, or (2) after five compliant posts, whichever comes first. |

Wait...old challenge was building BUILT by FLW
but

So that makes this thread totally lame if we arent going to follow the rules.

The point of this challenge thread is to get everyone out driving and enjoying their VW’s.
I suppose some might enjoy towing their rolling chassis around…IDK.
IMO Cekert64 fulfilled the challenge since it was posted from the same day.
If the FLW hasn’t been met, it is way past time for a new challenge.
Next challenge please. _________________ Volkswagen!

To get us moving again, I finally PS'ed an image to meet a month-old challenge, so let's not imagine we are in any hurry here!
I posted the challenge that was the most disassembled in five posts or five days. We haven't crossed either threshold yet.
After hundred of challenges, I figured something a little different, one that is fair to those who CANNOT drive their VWs this time of year, would be a welcome change. |

In all fairness there’s only about three bolts currently keeping me from driving my car.
Which does not mean to say it’s in great condition, but I should be able to drive it again by tomorrow.
The photograph I posted was from September before I reassembled the car.
So I’m kind of outside the spirit of this challenge, but I like that photograph & it was already on the server.

Reality check.

And this ^^^
To the handful of us playing. Keep the audience in mind when choosing a challenge. Not everyone on The Samba lives in North America. That being said. Don’t be afraid to ask for a Castle next to a VW. Not a lot of castles in North America but a lot of castles in Europe. And yes East Coast, White Castle burger joint would count. Choose a challenge that gets the most people involved. Perhaps we will see some different VW enthusiasts participating.
IMHO a challenge could be repeated after one calendar year. Just a thought. _________________ Keep on Busin'

Is there a link to the latest list of running challenges?
Edit: hey I found it and it says that after 50 challenges you can repeat something as long as you don’t use the same photographs. _________________ SS100 kit kar

No, not quite yet...
On the 27th (Thursday) the current challenge I posted will be completed, based on those submitted by that date.
The thread is open for more entries for this current challenge until that time.

Right now, Cekert64's is the only compliant post to this challenge (must be a new photo). Two days to go. |
