I searched and am sure the topic is around here somewhere but, I have a neighbor who has a wedding beetle you know the wrought iron see through body. I asked him if he wanted to sell it a few years ago and he said no. Well it is sitting on the side of his house on dirt/gravel in the south Florida humidity/rain with a tarp over it. I drove by his house the other day,the gate was open and it's still there under the tarp. It can't be doing very well. I know VWoA commissioned like 20 some odd to be produced but how many others may have been built by various artists? What might this pile be worth? |

Pretty much my thought. It was fairly nice about ten years ago when he showed it to me. He thought it was valuable ,he also thought the MG kit car sitting in front of it was worth far more. I need to go and ask him if I can take some pics so I can post them in "sitting in fields and rotting away" |

I’m sure it could be media blasted, repaired and powder coated to bring it back to glory. If it is rare there may be some details that you might want to research.
They’re definitely fun but not practical.
Value is up to you (and the seller).
But things are only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. _________________ Volkswagen!

I know these cars well (have had three of them) and know they history, have tracked down quite a few of them. I would definitely be interested in learning more about this car and potentially restoring it.
What state is the car in? _________________ Cheers!

If they're not doing anything with it, I would pursue it or pass the lead onto someone that would do right and save it. I hate seeing rare things go to waste, like OldBug said, they would be willing to restore it and would give it a nice home/pass it along at some point after restoring it. |

I should be in the neighborhood in the next week or two. I'll ask him again and see If I can get a pic or 2. The guy is rather quirky so we'll see. And yes I don't like the idea that it's just sitting there and wasting away. |
