I was cleaning my 95 EVC and the bottom well, where the sliding door track is has a wax on the bottom. It seems aftermarket, but I notice that it seems to be a track for water to exist the weep hole(though weep hole mostly blocked by the wax). Is this something VW did or some previous owner to prevent rust or sitting water in the gutter?
If so, it's crusty. Are there replacement wax strips? |

It might be something like WaxOyl or FluidFilm:

Back in the day VW used cosmoline to prevent parts and body cavities from rusting. I'm sure the modern equivalent is similar but perhaps less toxic _________________ Casey--
