Hi All I have a 72 Ghia coupe that needs a total resto.
I live an hour away from Cookers so that's a plus.
Have you used them or who would you use for a total in the D.C. metro area?
This is one of the first steps in the long journey to posting shiny photos here!
Thanks

I haven’t used them but I’ve seen plenty of their work in person at the VW shows. From what I can tell they do great work. I don’t think their work is cheap but good work usually is not. |

They are expensive......but they do great work. I , personally would not have any hesitation at all using them, if you 1) have the money and 2) dont mind the wait. They are very busy, so it only goes to show you, many people like them. Do you have at least $25 K ? Probably more to start, dont know what we are looking at, but thats where most (good) jobs start at. You have to first decide what that Ghia is worth......then proceed. Remember, sheet metal doesnt know whether it belongs on a Porsche or a VW.....most reputable shops charge the same regardless. |

Hi Chris, I had most of my work done at Skyline Auto Restoration in Madison Virginia, they got very expensive over the years. I had my Ghia painted at Blackwolf Auto in Woodbridge VA http://www.blackwolfauto.com/ They too were expensive, but did very good work. They restore all types of classic cars, but not sure how many VW's they do. Over the years I have seen bugs and Ghia's in their for resto and repair. As stated, these cars are not cheap to restore, so depends on how much you want to put into it for others to do, and when you want to do the work like I eventually did, see my build page.
