Hi Guys,

I'm getting a weird check engine light codes from my '94 legacy in my '86 Syncro.

With black connectors hooked up (Read Memory Connector) I get code15 and 24.
With Green connectors hooked up (Test Mode Connector) I get 3 (ie 3 short blinks) Which should not even exist.

I believe the 15 code is a bad #2 fuel injector, and the 24 is a Air Control Valve issues. I don't understand the "3".

Also - any tips on the Air Control Valve - it looks like a replacement is about $300 - I've tried cleaning it, and could try cleaning again?

thanks.

Swap #2 injector with any other cylinder and see if the trouble follows to that cylinder.
Ignore the Idle control code for now.

Connect the black connectors only for codes on OBD1.

This is from my '92 2.2 service manual. I'd think it should be close in OBD systems to the '94.
Black is memory. Green is D-check/Test Mode.

In Green; with Ign. ON, eng. OFF, the check light should be on.
With eng. ON and no issues noted, the light should blink in a steady non-code.

update...

I finally had a little break in the weather (ie it got above freezing).
I went to check the fuel injector to see how to swap it. I found the problem - the wire was broken right at the connector. My mechanic was able to cobble it together, but I need a new fuel injector connector.

I also found the Idle Air Control Valve electrical connector was loose

So I'm going to be trying to find some new connectors...

thanks - no luck there.

What has me confused - if I search for this connector online, almost all the images show a slightly different type of connector.
If I hold my connector - there are two notches at approx 4 and 8pm. The ones I'm seeing online appear to have the notches at 10 and 2 pm. IE upside down...
this is my connector...

Here is a pic of what the www is saying areplacement is

I wonder if I just order that replacement, and just use the spade connectors and seals?

update - my mechanic helped me find these -
https://www.ebay.com/itm/262880271828

Part Number 90980-10702 for those looking for this connector.
I think that solved my problem. When replacing - I found injector # 1 was also bad (i saw some corrosion around connector). I replaced that as well. I may just replace them all.

I think I've reset ECU codes. I'll let you all know when I take it for a test drive -(I was just dealing with a Knock Sensor that went bad as well).
