didn't know where else to post this Bay by the ocean video
it's helping me in the northern 'off season' as I just put my Bay into winter storage today. they've salted the roads now in Syracuse, NY
anyways.. save it if you like.. I run it on my kitchen TV as an overnight nitelite

About as wild as it will get over here
Old military roads in the Italien Alps around Bardonecchia
On the way down from Colle del Sommeiler 2993m, about as high as you get on 4 wheels in the Alps

Went to Red River Valley VW show in Fargo, then headed south to the Blackhills and Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. Returned to Rochester, MN with zero problems (other than broken antenna mount). Great place for buses!

Nice place! Water looks a bit sharky but there are some rideable waves. _________________ *******************************

Amazing place! It's called Five Rocks and is pretty remote and difficult to get to. Lots of big tiger sharks and the occasional salt water crocodile but they mostly stay away from the beach and hang out in the rivers or mangrove areas.
It's a bit too far north to get consistent waves as the Great Barrier Reef blocks the swell.. but the secret is if the swell is straight east it passes through a gap in the reef and islands 🤙
Have scored massive waves there once but it's scary as hell being in the water.. knowing what lives there coupled with the remoteness and the likely fact you're alone haha
Best thing about modding your VW for offroad is to be able to go places like this!

I was struck by how much this resembles the tip of Baja California del Sur, at least until I saw your license plate! Nice! |
