Thanks for dropping by!

The momo wheel does require the momo mounting adapter, but that's literally all you need- the hardware is included. You only need to transfer over the horn cancelation ring from your original steering wheel, and it all bolts right on. I'm not kidding when I say for me it was a ten minute job Shocked

One nice thing is that although I bought the 350mm wheel, they just came out with a 370mm version, and this may obscure the top of the speedometer a little less. As it is the top of the speedometer is visually blocked by the wheel a bit with my setup, but I'm not sure how much of that is my seats and seating position as I never had the wheel installed with the stock seats. Apparently it's a problem for the Porsche guys too, but in all reality I know what speed I'm going at a glance anyway so find it a non issue.

The thing with the dual carbs is that nearly all of them require some work.mainly the manifolds may take some fitting, but I'm told grinding manifolds to fit is needed even when buying from someone like CB Performance. If you're handy and don't find things like that a deal breaker (I dont) then it's pretty easy honestly. If you aren't familiar with duals I recommend a kit from someone like CB or Aircooled.net, but if you don't mind a little work the kits from CIP1 or similar work well after a little setup. IDF types will require more work overall to dial in and get jetted perfect compared to a pair of Kadrons, ICTs, Solex etc but they do make more power and have more potential.

The dual solex kits from CB are pretty nice, and simple to set up. They include everything ready to go. I've installed a few for folks and they are nice on stock engines.

Most fun I've ever had in a car, and I've driven much faster, more expensive, more fancy, etc. This one does it all and does it in a style all it's own. Cool

Can't believe it's been six years already.

Small update I forgot about- I removed the foglights I was running, and gave them to a friend to install on his patina'd 64 sunroof. I then replaced them with Hella 500FFs, and like them much better- Great illumination for nighttime driving. I found the fogs had very limited use.

(don't mind the hummer, that's my cousin's slow monster)

Then, due to rock chips making me nervous, I ordered some 6.5" motorcycle headlight grills to help protect them. I bent the brackets and they fit nicely, so I just added some safety wire to be safe on bumpy roads.

I like them- no more popping the covers on/off for drives each night. They aren't too obtrusive at all, and visually work well with the headlight grilles I run already.

Lots of progress today after not doing much to the car other than driving it.

I got tired of having oil smell inside the car from the vent just going into the engine bay through the breather filter, and it always had a film of oil all over the surrounding area. I despise pumping oily air into the carbs, so installed an oil catch can to separate the oil out of the mist so that just air goes through the breather. I then routed the breather outside of the engine bay and out of the fender well. Cheap 25$ oil catch can from Amazon but it looks better than cobbling something together, and I refuse to buy one of the cheap breather kits that everyone else uses.

Next up I cut up some aluminum angle, drilled and tapped them, and finally got around to mounting my decklid rack in anticipation of show and camping season. They're rough for now, but I'm going to round over the edges and polish them soon. The actual l-bracket is thinner than I would like, so I want to make a thicker set and polish them up, or maybe pai t them black.

The decklid rack doesn't make a noticeable difference in stability at highway speed, and doesn't sound too noisy- just a subtle *vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv* sound when going 75 or faster. Can't wait to make up some fishing rod holders to clamp to the sides for day trips with the kids!

I do think that I want to make up some extensions for the bottom mounting section, and add some locking wing nuts so that I can quickly remove the rack if needed. It does block access to the engine partially- you can only open enough to check the oil but little else. I don't plan to leave the rack in place all the time- mainly for events and trips, so I think with some tweaks it will work well.

With my wingnut arrangement the rack can be swung up and out of the way without the use of tools for access to the engine. Works a treat Very Happy
