I speak with the owner of this collection fairly regularly, and they could not be in the hands of a better steward.
They're currently being moved to a better paved space and eventually all of them indoors- and yes.... he regularly sells vanagons.
He is a dealer, not a junkyard- it's illegal for him to sell parts, but he absolutely will build you your dream bus and sell it to you rebuilt to your specs as a running, driving, inspected, and fully legal in that state vehicle.

Haters hate- those haters are jealous.
He's not "hoarding them" they're not "rotting", you hate that you didn't buy $300 westfalias and store them safely with the title until the value went up. And you're hating on the idea that to buy one from him now (running and restored) is not $300, jealousy is fun to witness.

I'll be heading down there this fall to help my brother shop for and pick out his dream bus, really looking forward to it!
There's some great busses in this collection.

Haters? Jelousy?... not sure were your getting this from, but ok.

FYI. Hoarding = is the purchase and warehousing of large quantities of a commodity by a speculator with the intent of benefiting from future price increases.

Rotting = Deterioration and damage done to vehicles that are exposed to the elements for a prolonged period of time.

I think they are just stating the obvious - don't think it implies hating or jealousy.

He does have a nice collection!!

Watched & enjoyed the video. Hoarding, collecting or saving from oblivion. I salute the man and share his automotive love of Vanagons.

Hoarding is a waste of resources.

Every time this gets bumped up in the feed I hope it is because Vuhvanagon posted. Sadly, it rarely is. No wonder.

Such a good example of quirky dreams, passion, and vanagons.

Complete speculation on my part, but: I have to think that a good percentage of those vans are at the crossroads of "crusher" and "time to get this out of my yard" when Vuhvanagon gets them.

Wow, I've seen this place so many times but never knew the story. I am doing a few projects in Pulaski and will have to swing by next time I'm there. They have my future Doka!

@Vanuber, I was thinking the same thing regarding a place to search for a Doka when the time comes! If nothing else a great Vanagon caravan destination to go see.

I'm impressed, and good for them for having such a passion to buy and store them up.

That was hard to watch. So many inaccuracies that it was excruciating to endure...even the garbage about Sambarus was all wrong.
