Was watching some old hair metal videos on the MTV when this popped up. The song is TV Crimes by Black Sabbath when Ronnie James Dio was the lead singer. This kid was just wiping down that orange coupe very angrily...

Already listed at least twice in the past; as recently as last July. Best to check the show/movie title in the "Search" box before starting a reply. My recommendation is if the image was mentioned but no photo was posted in that response, then quote that response and add your photo. This acknowledges the first poster's initiative and observation.

If your image is better quality than one first listed due to sharpness, lack of distortion, not tilted, car cropped for prominence, etc; then still quote the original reply and state "similar to (first replier's) image but better quality"...

German "driving" documentary from 2016 "Geschichte & Entdeckungen: Als der Suedwesten fahren lernte" (History & discovery: As the Southwest learned to drive). Produced by the German TV station SWR (Suedwest Rundfunk, Southwest Broadcasting) using many of their archived automobile driving films from the 1950's thru '70's.

In the passing lane on the Autobahn.

'68/'69 Coupe in slow lane of Autobahn traffic. Unusual to see headrests on a German market Ghia, though they were mandatory for the US market. "KA" letters on its license plate are for the city/district Karlsruhe, located west of Stuttgart.

Broadcaster host from the 1960's and 1970's was former German race car driver Richard von Frankenberg. He's coming up on a Ghia Coupe on the Autobahn in his Mercedes-Benz; appears to be a '66.

von Frankenburg interviews a man in a Ghia Coupe while parked.

Policeman advising Ghia driver of a parking violation. Appears to be a '66 per the chrome strip in the dash, and the black steering wheel.

This documentary contained an ARAL fuel station promo with 2-toned Lowlight coupe. ARAL is Germany's largest fuel brand; dates back to 1924. Name is combination of fuel characteristics aromatic and aliphatic, pronounced "arr-AHL".

Unsellable Houses that just aired. I like that these sisters are VW fans. This episode had one of them buy one of her 1st beetles back. They did a vin check to prove she owned it back in the 90s. They bought it from a parts dealer from what I could figure out. Cropped out most of the unnecessary stuff for the Ghia...

Movie "Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine" (1965) starring Frankie Avalon, Vincent Price, Dwayne Hickman and Jack Mullaney. Filmed in San Francisco, California. Bidart already posted an image in 2018 in this thread of a low-light Ghia Coupe from this movie.

More Ghias: Two-tone white/blue Ghia Coupe parked, with Dr. Goldfoot and Igor (Price, Mullaney) approaching on their motorcycle+sidecar.

Light blue Ghia parked, as Todd Armstrong & Craig Gamble (Hickman, Avalon) turn sharply in the stolen red '64 Sunbeam Alpine.

Dark-colored Ghia Coupe parked, along with 2 Beetles. Red car at front of the line is an Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider.

'70 Ghia Coupe in background of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, California in movie "Machine Gun McCain" (1970).

Light blue '66 Ghia Coupe, movie "The Lady in Cement" (1968) filmed in the Miami, Florida area.

White '70/'71 Ghia Coupe parked, YouTube German "driving" video "Koeln 1978 Autofahrt durch Junkersdorf" (Cologne auto drive thru Junkersdorf). You can see the much smaller, round rear reflectors beneath the taillamps on this Euro-spec Ghia compared to the rectangular ones for the US models. US reflector style was needed due to reflector minimum size that was specified by Federal Motor Vehicle safety standards.

From 2019:

On my way back from Australia/New Zealand I watched “All the Presidents Men” there is a 70’s Ghia parked in the street in an early scene of Robert Redford walking down the street.

I skimmed thru it this past week and also picked up on the Ghia. I posted this in my gallery under "Type 3- Squareback".

Later Cabrio in movie "Light Blast" (1985). I tried to reduce shadows to discern the taillamps and bumper better, but the low-res of the YouTube did not allow an improvement.
