Glad it isn't just me. This one for sure drives me absolutely berserk. Much more than it probably should I'm sure. The same feeling I get whenever I see someone write about 'veggies' instead of vegetables. Whenever I read a post where someone is talking about a 'dizzy', I can't help but fantasize about bashing them over the head with a shovel.
I also can't stand it when people refer to their type 1 as a 'bug'. You sound like a complete f'ing dipsh*t talking about your 'bug'... "Uh, I'm a complete f'ing moron who drives a BUG. I have a single digit IQ, and I like it when people kick me in the nuts."
If I ever read a post where someone was talking about the 'dizzy' in their 'bug', I don't know what would happen... |

Along that line, the term 'carby' or 'carbies' makes me throw up in my mouth a little. 'Carb' is already short for 'carburetor.' _________________ “If you care for a thing long enough, it takes on a life of its own, doesn't it? I've heard others say you "ride" a horse, but you "drive" a car, a motorcycle, a bicycle etc... I guess by their logic, any vehicle you are in total control of on the ground, you are "driving". But, I can see the other perspective, anything you straddle and it moves, you are "riding". _________________ '74 412 wagon

Ride has been used as a term for a car since the 1930’s. The use of it is almost 100 years old. _________________ 21 million of these cars were built, and everyone of them were sold...kinda astounding given how unreliable they are.---johhnypan |

Here in Oregon, your ride is called a 'rig'. When you restore it you 'cherry it out'.
"Dude, do you think you could cherry out the genny on my rig? It's the thing to the lower passenger side of the carby, kitty- corner from the dizzy."
"Dude. It's a fuckin' BUG, not a RIG!" _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

I have never been annoyed by anyone saying anything to me, except for the other day...
This guy basically came up to me at the gas station and was like, "hey, you should get a 53 on that. You could make it look like Herbie." To which I responded, "Yeah, I could, but that's not really my style. I like the car just the way it is for now." To which he responded, "yeah, but you should get a 53 on it and make it look like Herbie." To which I responded, "Well, there was a Herbie at a car show I went to the other day. It was really cool." To which he responded, "Yeah, but the real Herbie is at Disney." And then he walked away.
I was like, dang. A couple times people have told me to change this or that on my car, because they like it this way or that, to which I always respond "Well, I like it just the way it is!"
