It may be me, but I count at least 10 things wrong with this car. But then again, it is a Frankenstein. But, a 1961????

I used to buy them from CIP for 33 bucks shipped. CIP used to sell all kinds of WCM seals for less than WCM sold them for (probably got a nice discount for buying in bulk). _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

I think they are just a Bay Window seal anyways. _________________

Hey guys
Been quite some time since I've poked around on here and made a post, been out of the ACVW scene for several years but thinking about getting back to it. Previously owned a 67 Type 1 and a few Supers.
This fastback for sale somewhat local caught my eye, any feedback? $9K CAN translates to a bit under $7K USD roughly. I've no idea what Type 3 values are at these days. Reminds me of the old toy car in the same colour.

All I can say is if you want to buy a purple car, that's on you. Anything most of us can say relates to a stock T3. Purple is so far out of normal pricing that its in its own realm. If it was brown on the other hand then ....... _________________

Not sure where to post this - it's not a 'whine', just thought it might be interesting to someone...
https://www.k-bid.com/auction/44292/item/315?offset=16
I'm not affiliated with the seller, although I'm pretty sure I've met him.
EDIT - The seller isn't who I thought it was, but their businesses are in the same building...
If anyone here buys it, I'd be willing to go pick it up and ship it, if the auction house won't ship. _________________ 1988 Ford Festiva L

According to the ad, it's a 63, which means it's not supposed to have any upper side trim. Not to mention the front side lights are supposed to sit above the body line. I don't know why someone would add Holley FI, and use long tube runners like that. Myself, I'd run 2 Throttle Bodies and have it look like dual carbs, but with the injectors hidden. I mean the engine bay has already been cut to use dual carbs anyway, why not run something that doesn't require a hole cut into the luggage floor. I mean, that's why you buy a type 3 ...to have 2 trunks. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

That thing is all KuStuM. Not much 63 left, so anything goes. _________________

It is the last version which is a plus but way to high, limited market and Im sure between ten of us here following this thread, we could pool 20 of them used. _________________

"Vintage VW aficionados, you know you don't see this stuff available much anymore. So here is your chance to get a show-quality pan assembly for your rotted out Type III or kit car, which will LAST. Ya just gotta put it all together (the fun part).
Pan is originally from a Fastback. pinholes were patched on the inside, unit was completely sandblasted then powder-coated (not spray paint) to protect it in-perpetuity. All other parts were sandblasted and powder-coated, save for the custom parts which were either polished or hard chromed. Copy of original "T" will be included.
The front beam was sandblasted, but then left un-coated, with the intent of having it chromed too; but an unexpected move many years ago required this project to be put into storage until today. I intended on chroming the other un-coated parts before re-assembly, but now has surface rust due to ambient air; easily cleaned up. Ready to weld on your air-bag kit or flip front-end bracketry. Everything has been kept inside since disassembly.
The stock swing-axle rear suspension was professionally modified to accept IRS, which better cradles the tranny for high-HP applications, while keeping the rear tires flat to the ground for better handling and traction. Suspension geometry is all correct for the conversion. The rear sub-frame is still protected by the stock undercoating on it, with a splash of paint. I recommend it be sandblasted and either powder-coated or chromed too (bling!) and add rear disc brakes. Adjustable rear spring plates were polished when new, but need a little touch up polish and a new coat of wax now.
The cardboard box in the pic has just about all the parts you would need (bearings, cables, bushings, U-joints, etc.) to completely assemble this chassis. The chrome is DEEP and absolutely gorgeous. The cool thing about this package is that you can still customize it all to fit YOUR tastes. If the colors don't suit you, paint over it with your specified colors. The powder-coating will provide a tough and protective underlayment for your color scheme.
Lots of extras I'll throw in (manuals, books, vintage promo material, as well as cool old VW magazines from the 1980's. Also have a set of four Centerline-style wheels/tires (195/50-15) with plenty of tread left that will go with the package. Old school promo pix are only for reference and inspiration; No guarantees expressed or implied. Local Pickup in Seattle-area only.
They ain't making this vintage stuff anymore, so get it while you can. This is great fodder for a sweet project."

You do know this is the "whines" section?
Ok, Ill go first - 14k? Is this guy crazy. I bought my whole, running car for that price.
Or I could see that being said, something along those lines. _________________
