Do you have a bulb in the front on the left side? |

I do. And I don't currently have a two-element led I can try up there.

I think, either a difference in wiring from type 1 to type 3, or, perhaps the magic. With an analog bulb , there is much more resistance, thus causing the electrical stuff to work. I'd be curious if you were to replace that bulb with an LED and see if it works then. I'll stay tuned. Thanks for letting your thread get sideways. |

traditional flasher relays are thermal. the traditional bulb resistance is what regulates the flash rate. LED create so little load that the traditional unit does not react.
hey Max, did you try Mario's water temp sensor replacement in your EFI? I am thinking of trying one on my system. _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

Yesterday and today I reindexed the rear torsions. Second one went a lot faster than the first one. I don't do this every day.
The FW seal tool came in so I got the seal installed. But I got to fix my flywheel first. Looks like my botched seal installation did some damage. I'll call Randy Bowen Monday morning.
Meanwhile my NOS door checks came from Mario. He comes up with the darndest stuff.

Put the engine back in (minus flywheel) to get a look at how I did on the rear torsions.
This is what I had before.
And this is how it looks now.
I took 6 degrees out as measured at the spring plates.
Before and after:
Car isn't at full curb weight yet. Doors are off and the rear windows not installed yet. No seats.
Still the door sill measures dead level. I think it's do just fine.

Randy is fixing my flywheel today. So I'm tying down the front signals.
The fender and the light base are not a great fit. But the gasket takes up the gaps for the most part.
Over on the right side we have an example of what sometimes happens when using 55 year old parts. Happened when I was pulling the spade connector off.

So I tried releasing the white part by pushing out one of the four tabs ... and the tab just broke off. Next I tried tapping the broken contact back on with a wide punch. I feels secure when just pushing and pulling on it with my fingers.
But I expect it to come loose again somewhere far from home.
If anyone has a idea for this I'm all ears.

So with my sons recent passing I'm just getting back into the barn. Today I put the drivers seat back in and cleaned up some wiring in the engine harness. I had removed my mechanical oil pressure gauge to get it out of the way. And of course I started the engine without reinstalling the gauge.
Oil everywhere. Clean oil at least. About 2 quarts based on how much it took afterwards. So I rolled it out of the barn so I could clean up the oil and brought the car up to the driveway in front of the garage to clean up the engine room.
Sprayed degreaser all over the engine then hit it with the pressure washer. I was half expecting the water to get into the electrics but it started right up and I let it run for a while to dry the engine.
I have a lot of tuning to do but it idles at just over 1000 rpm with the CLT stable at 166.
And since the car was right in front of the garage and covered in dust and pollen (it's spring) I gave it a careful bath.
Front looks a little high.

Today I bled the brakes. The back brakes were disconnected when I reindexed the rear torsions.
So I've turned to the bumpers.
These bumpers are nice and straight but were rechromed by someone somewhere along the line. The backsides were rusty so I protected the frontsides with duct tape and had the backs sand-blasted and put them up in the rafters. Today I got them down and started pulling off the tape. Some of the tape took some chrome with it.
I'll clean these up and use them temporarily. But I'm thinking the stainless bumpers that are now available might be the way to go.

We pulled off the varnish on some bathroom molding, by leaving the tape on too long!
