As others have stated, have it cleaned as a first option as the new FI tanks that you can buy from CIP1 or similar don't have the internal baffles to keep gas around the outlets when cornering.
I had my tank cleaned but it was too badly rusted and gas was seeping through about 6" from the outlets. I covered the area with marine epoxy that is rated for gasoline and petrochem usage and then painted it but just didn't feel comfortable thinking that the epoxy would hold long term so I bought a new tank.
It works fine but when the tank is less than 1/4 full and on a long right turn (think HWY onramp), the gas moves to the opposite side of the tank and the outlets are exposed and the bus will die until the gas sloshes back to cover the outlets again.
No quick fix on this, just have to keep the tank more than a 1/4 full. _________________ *******************************

why they did not put baffles in the replacement FI tanks is beyond me. FI fuel pumps hate drawing in air, it can cause all sorts of failures. The only time to really add a baffle is when the tank is built. But the good news is that there are lots of scrapped FI bays with good fuel tanks if you ever do it again. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |

I looked locally for a while and just missed out on one at a swap as I had to walk 5 mins to an ATM to get some cash to buy it but by the time I returned, someone had bought it. I used the repaired tank for about 6 months but had the engine out for a transaxle swap and bought a new tank. Found out it lacked the baffles when I received it but went with it anyway for the peace of mind. I plan to attend any swaps I can find this year and will keep my eyes open for one. _________________ *******************************

I’ve been running this tank in my 76 fuel injected bus. https://www2.cip1.com/c24-211-201-075-m/. Using Gates 5/16” FI line rated for all fuels https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c/barricade/gat...amp;pos=5. I have never had any issues with it sucking air during cornering even when less than a 1/4 tank. You don’t want to run any of the other tanks because the location of the fuel line ports and the size ent work that well.
