Preparing to install standoffs on my '64 and wondering what is typical procedure for the license plate light wire. Don't really want the wire running across the gap at standard position.
Route across an upper corner? Abandon license plate light entirely?
All opinions and thoughts appreciated! |

Wow - both my VWs have had lid standoffs for more than 4 decades each, just pretty much left the wire where it was, never gave it a second thought.

I have stand offs and made my deck lid removable. I just just the wire and put a connector on it so I can disconnect it in the engine bay. |

I knocked out the roll pins in the hinges and added big clips. Now all I do is pull the clips out and the deck lid comes off |
