Don't know how I've missed this thread up 'til now, there are so many rare VW models I never knew existed.
I have a modest collection of VW toys, probably nothing you haven't seen before but possibly being in England there are some I have that are harder to find in the USA.
This is probably the hardest to find in half decent shape, I bought this Spot On when I was a kid for a few pence at a jumble sale

Some think that if your beetle has a padded dash, it's an engine donor. Some think that if it has push button door handles, it's a boat anchor.

The Spot-On model was made by Tri-ang. The reason it says "Made in the United Kingdom" instead of the usual "Made in England" is because it was made in Scotland. If you look inside, you can see that the driver looks like the typical Scottish bloke, complete with cap and scarf. It looks more like he was headed to the pub than competing in a rally. (Are the two things inseparable in Scotland?)

This is one of the nicer diecast VWs, and is entirely unique unto itself. At 1/42 scale, it's slightly larger than the usual 1/43.

Close - actually Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Spot-On cars seem to command something of a premium on eBay etc, I collect lots of different brands and eras (not just VWs), but this is still the only Spot-On of any kind in my collection

My latest addition – plastic 'made in Hong Kong' Karmann Ghia, approx. 1/24 scale. This one has no markings but others were made by Marx.

It looks similar to the Marx Karmann Ghia. This one had a missing windshield, so I used one from a Palmer model and it fit perfectly, and looks better!
