what is the difference in this engine tin?

if you look at the picture below, you will see two engine pulley tins that appear to be identical. If you look at the right side, you'll see a different hole size where the oil filler tube would go. Can anyone tell me what the differences is are for? I Know one of these will fit my 68 autostick, but i don't know if the hole layout on the right is crucial.

Top looks like it's simply a bent up version of the bottom one.
