Feldman suffered from thyroid disease
and developed Graves' ophthalmopathy,
causing his eyes to protrude and become

Sometimes I wake up feel like I’m in Forest City, Arkansas
Although I’m free I’m still a prisoner of all I saw
Sometimes I leave this booth at 4 am, and ride down Simpson
Just prayin homie, and reminiscin
Sometimes my nightmare seems so real, feel like I’m still in prison
I reach out for Tameeka hand, I’m trippin cuz she missin'
It’s pitch black dark, like I’m in solitary
So if my freedom was a dream, Lord please prepare me
It seems like satan want my soul and he refuse to share me
My former friends talk about me like I’m dead and buried
Bastards want me in the casket for my head cold
Trouble in my soul, the devil got a hold
Did everything to me but kill me, like he did to Job
He took my diamonds, took my rhymes, took my fame and gold
He took my business interest, he took my wife and kids
But he can’t take nothing God can’t give me back again
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
I went to jail, stood tall, then I fell again
It seems like I’m Jonah and right back in that will again
I felt the panic when they locked me in that cell again
I had to pray and meditate, control my breath again
Like Lazarus I’ve risen from a better death again
The Lord is with me, I could stand against a thousand men
I read the songs of David, prayed to be like Solomon
God’s wisdom walkin' all amongst these hollow men
I’m a king, I dare to lead when they just follow me
I see a better way, I’m keeping my eyes on the sparrow
I’m exiting my Egypt, tell em wave goodbye to pharaoh
Mother told me before she left this earth that I was special
And because I’m special, they gon' make me suffer
Like they crucified Jesus right in front his mother
Suckas, but he arose on the 3rd day
Just save your head and get a favour, let the church say…
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Jesus loves me
This I know
For the Bible tells me so
Yes, He loves me
This I know
For the Bible tells me so

Well, I've been runnin' to-and-fro, hard workin' at the mill
Never fail in the mail, yeah, come a rotten bill, ho
Too much monkey business, too much, monkey business
Too much monkey business for me to be involved in
Salesman talkin' to me, tryin' to run me up a creek
You can buy it, go on try it, you can pay me next week, ho
Too much monkey business, too much monkey business
Too much monkey business for me to be involved in
Blonde half, good looks, tryin' to get me hooked
Want me to marry, get a home, settle down, write a book, ho
Too much monkey business, too much monkey business
Too much monkey business for me to be involved in
Well, it's same thing every day, gettin' up, goin' to school
No need for me to complain, objection's overruled, ho

A couple of musicians I grew up with in my hood. They were cool kids to grow up with and cool people when they sort of made it. Actually they did make it. Perhaps one of the quintessential indie college bands of the early 90s that took Indie/college rock to the next level. Their style wasn’t my jam back in the day. But I appreciate them for what they did and do. And I appreciate their other bands even more.

Since discovering Spotify, I feel like I've rediscovered music again. Long time VW owner and music enthusiast here. I'm sharing a recording project I was part of this past April 2022. These are 6 of the 10 songs headed on this new album called "Fall From Grace"
Writing these songs was about the healing process. We've all been there. We've all healed from something in our past. I hope you can check a few of these tunes out during your travels.
Have a grateful day!
PS. I certainly hope this was the right place to post this. ✌️ |

People expected to fall and hit that same old wall
Really they don't wanna help at all
They talk behind your back today
They shake their heads and they say
Well, I always knew that the boy would come to no good anyway
So better pack up and go to Detroit or Buffalo
Anybody wanna know where, you don't know
You don't know
God knows, everybody's gotta go sometime
And I'm taking this train 'til the end of the line
Missing every mile that friend of mine
I haven't been to Wilmer's Ville
A lot of time on the shell
Saying that I don't need help when I do
But I'm gonna be just fine
A lot of friends a little while
But really I wish I could see you again sometime
So guess I pack up and go to Detroit or Buffalo
Anybody wanna know where, you don't know
You don't know
God knows, everybody's gotta go sometime
And I'm taking this train 'til the end of the line
Missing every mile that friend of mine
It's hard to open up the door
Like you were gone so many times before
And really I think you can't do it anymore
So take a chance and take a train
Out into the pouring rain
And all you got is your suitcase full of pain
So I better pack up and go to Detroit or Buffalo
Anybody wanna know where, I don't know
No, I don't know
God knows, everybody's gotta go sometime
And I'm taking this train 'til the end of the line

Was pawing through my old HS/ college record collection and gave this old friend a spin for the first time in likely 35-40 years...

Peter Gabriel + Phil Collins from the Bicentennial Summer... no internet, no cell phones, no GPS, no streaming, no CDs or MP3s... if you wanted music, you bought the vinyl or tape.
"Mah name is Jimmy Cahtuh, and Ah'm runnin for president"- "Can you afford Jerry Ford?"... fun simple times. Oh, and driving my VW on the interstate was a daily thing- sometime multiple times daily.
Guess I am officially a codger.
