i asked here if someone in the EU was willing to send me some.
i know that these kinds of parts are not allowed to be shipped into the US.
no takers
sad that they are being discontinued, NLA.
i wonder how long the NOS supply will hold out? _________________ 88 Van WBX, A/T - 13 JSW TDI 6M/T - 2012 Touareg TDI Sport |

still available in the uk. I thought the unpopular vw ceo Diess wanted them dropped from the vw canteen menu but not cease production completely.

I suggest you go to Europe, and time your arrival back to JFK in NYC just before the flight from Kingston, Jamaica arrives. Tell em you're a vw gear head, pull out some shiny plastic vw bit from your pocket, and wax poetic about your trip to the factory.

Of course, one cannot bring sausages back to the USA or you might incur the wrath of the USDA airport Beagles.
But you can bring back a bottle of official Volkswagen ketchup with logo and everything.
By the way, the VW wurst are really, really, good! And since you’re not doing anything more important than reading the Samba, fly to Germany right now, catch a train to Wolfsburg, a taxi to Workstadt and have lunch at the canteen (which is astonishingly expensive, by the way). Then, return home and resume reading the Samba. |

I have heard before that the food at VW's Canteen is extraordinary. I also heard that they went vegan and/or vegetarian. As for their spicy ketchup, I do not know their ingredients, but I do like spicy ketchup on my potatoes and usually just mix Aleppo pepper into the ketchup, which I think is delicious. _________________ "The holy land is everywhere." ~ Black Elk

interesting fact - just like vw, currywurst was made possible with help from the post-war british military...
The invention of currywurst is attributed to Herta Heuwer in Berlin in 1949, after she obtained ketchup (or possibly Worcestershire sauce) and curry powder from British soldiers in Germany. She mixed these ingredients with other spices and poured it over grilled pork sausage. _________________ "we're here on Earth to fart around" kurt vonnegut
