I picked this little 64 beetle up awhile ago with the intention of making it look like a vintage rally car/ daily for my wife. Currently at the shop getting new headliner put in. New door panels (plain Black) and a new TMI interior (red plaid) just arrived the other day and look to be high quality. i also purchased the wolfsburg west coconut hair and padding. Will be doing this weekend and will post completed pics. My main question that i would like to get some opinions on are tire sizes. I have purchased the 5.5 wide steel slotted rims for the rear and 4.5 slotted wheels for the front. I am considering the vredestein sprint classic 205/70 for the rear and the 185/70 front.

If anyone has any suggestions or resources that they could point me too would be appreciated. Thanks

Is that Franz old car?

I think those tires would look really good on it.

Nice car! The rally look works so well on 60s bugs.

Yeah I got it from Franz about a year ago. Solid little car, not a lick of rust. I think ill bite the bullet and pay for the Sprint classics, they are cool. In a weak moment last night i even bought a set of the CB performance Fake Porsche Drum brake covers Very Happy Very Happy

Nice. I think Franz recommends the size you posted.

You should ping him if you have doubts, he is a great resource for what works. Take care.

Hey, those work fine until you get a chance to take out a loan to buy a set of real 356 drum brakes, which is my plan!

Took Bess into KCW to have the headliner put in and rebuild the sunroof. While there I also had them dial in the motor and brakes. Always very happy with the work they do. Got home and started putting in the carpet kit and upholstery, both from TMI. This was my first time doing this and so far I am pleased with the results. The material so far has fit perfectly and the quality seems to be there. Took Thursday off because I am excited to get back in garage. Should have the interior done. Wheels and tires arrive Saturday. Still kicking around ideas for paint color on wheels....

Couple of things to button up on the interior but basically done. Will have wheels painted and tires mounted this week

Your TMI upholstery with the plaid pattern looks great.

How about finding a dark red/maroon for the centers, darker than the body color, and ivory/off white for the outers? Ties in the original factory 2-tone look and will be more interesting than a single color. The darker red centers will also be a strong contrast to the CB alu drum brake covers.
