Was thinking similar, perhaps the fact it's been for sale over 5 years reflects that too. |

In general, what patina buses have sold for big money? I think that patina is more something for us bus nerds than for the big money spending crowd. I don't think it supports much of a premium over a repaint unfortunately.
What it does do is tell a (usually) honest story of condition. It also saves the big money that a quality body and paint job costs and the problems associated with reworking a car and making it a shiny object that sees little of the road.
I would love for patina and original condition to draw a premium that was multiples of what a restored example will sell for, but I don't see it ever happening.
All that said, if you appreciate patina and solid buses, there are some amazing buses for sale in the pgsg department right now. At a perhaps better price point, they would be great to own and drive. Joey's bus in particular, is a true dialed in driver, which is worth so much more than most people realize. Most buses that are for sale on this site need lots of expensive mechanical work to be real reliable divers. People often don't factor in that their bus will need $10k+ of mechanical work after they pay big money for it, because you can't see how it will drive from pictures. |

Looks like someone already picked up Joey’s bus. I am sure the new owner is all smiles. Someone would be hard pressed to recreate Joey’s bus for the price he had it listed for. _________________ SOUTHERN INTEGRITY AIRCOOLERS

Damn, ambition can be costly. I doubt this dude will ever find anyone crazy enough to pay half that for this heap unless they are looking for a good deal on replacement metal.

If you are going to cop an attitude in your ad maybe you shouldn’t have a headliner in your bus that looks like a loaded diaper.

I have to say when an ad comes off as aggressively worded I am reluctant to do business with those folks. Makes me think it will be less than a pleasurable experience. On the other hand maybe this specific ad is worded this way because he really doesn't want to sell it. "look honey I tried to sell it it now get off my case about it"....... |

I saw this bus in person after completion sitting in the showroom of the shop in Kirkland. It wasn't for sale at the time, but I was told that the owner had rejected an offer of $125k. I don't know why a shop mechanic would lie to me, but I cannot believe that someone would make that kind of offer, or that the owner would turn it down.
Nice bus, but I don't know about the price. Bargain price now, though |
