I have the original red leather look door cards, but they are pretty warped.
Did anyone already attempted to remove the fabric and glue it onto a new board?
Any watchouts before attempting this?
Thanks! _________________ 356 Outlaw built: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=430774&highlight= |

I have done this to retain the og vinyl on my Euro 59. I just copied the original cards from the warped ones then heated and stretched (not much stretch since they were so old) then got a hold of a staple gun that had very short leg staples to fasten the old vinyl down. I added some piping (from Lenny Copp) and resprayed the vinyl using some vinyl spray to freshen up the colors.
They came out amazing and its all within my limited skill set!!

What do you folks use to clean the original vinyl? My door cards are in very good shape, just dirty and dingy looking. _________________ John
