From a fall of 2021 hunting trip. Not bad for original paint, although the front nose has some chips, and I see some minor peeling underneath the top of the front bumper. Any thoughts on the wisdom of painting the front clip only (nose and A-pillar)?

Nice. I would not put any wax on it if you are going to respray it in the spring. You do not want to put anything on it that could make it difficult for the new paint to adhere. Definitely nothing with silicone at all.

Yes, we did that for our Carat with original paint in similar condition to yours.

Your Tornado Carat looks really nice, RR. It looks as if you did the grill as well. Now you've inspired me!

Land Rover Caledonian blue OEM color code.
The color flashes different hues depending upon light conditions. It’s crazy. I get a lot of people asking the color - even just today.

Here It is in it’s sinister navy blue hue.

.

I had Triumph TR-250 (TR-5) that a friend sprayed it’s dark blue color. It looked deep purple at sundown and black at night. Maybe it’s somewhat a trait with certain blue tones?
Great looking van BTW

Thank you, kevinm. I used “satin black” on both front grills and the air dam. You will remove/cover any remaining factory “chrome trim” around the upper grill, but I think it looks fine this way. Go for it!

Savanna Beige. Considered changing it, but felt it best to keep it.
Now what color should my wheels be? Personally I like black with the VW dog dish hub caps, but these are Mercedes Steel wheels and they won’t fit.

Note sure about silver or some off-brown or tan or burnt orange. Gun-metal gray? Maybe plastic-dip to experiment , but I would be limited to their colors.
Opinions? (I need photoshop - ha!)

Color matched Savanna Beige wheels would be cool

Here is my '87 Syncro in Savanna Beige. Mercedes CLK rims in powder coated early Porsche 356 and 911 rim silver. I went for clear-coating over the silver.

^^^^ Loving both the Doka and high top paint schemes - the blackout feature along the high top windows certainly gives it a more modern look. The Doka color resembles Volvo’s uber-rare Sonic Blue, which just ‘pops’. Good show!

Some bubbling around windows, but pretty decent condition for a 33-year old!
