What this man said.

Defiantly needs a chunky book on the re-build.

The W30/26 posing with a police cabrio in the workshop at Hessisch Oldendorf and in front of the Rometsch hall. Not long to go before it will be available for viewing for the lucky souls who will attend this year's show. Also a quick view of the finished instrument pod with speedo, indicator lights and switches installed.
Also note, the roof gutters have been attached.

Absolutely stunning. A real credit to them of people behind the project.

Something about a vehicle in raw form that is timeless

Thank you again for sharing

Thanks for sharing, indeed those who get to see it in the flesh are very lucky.

I'm liking the gutter, and seeing the headlight housing detail, it's really coming together now. How do they prevent rusting at this stage?

I agree with the above, the car is absolutely fantastic to see in these photos and I trust everyone who sees it "in the flesh" will enjoy the view! Great work by everyone associated with building the car. Also, thanks to you for keeping us updated with info and photos as the project has advanced, Undis!

Do you know if the owners plan to recreate some of the pictures with the bare shell? That would be amazing, especially if they could source period specific cameras Smile

These photos are amazing, it looks so so good. The proportions discussed earlier in the thread appear unfounded and were most probably down to the camera used, as it just looks so right.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the next stage of progress and seeing it in its correct wheels.

The car looks great! Thank you for posting these pictures!

My understanding is that the body is steel, right? How are they able to work on it for all this time yet it does not have any rust on it? Are they spraying it with something like Gibbs to prevent rust?

The same types of 'observations' were made throughout the 38/06 thread, but the car came kinda perfect, woondnyasay?

Looks like somehow people prayed very hard and then conjured this car from the ether, back from the past.

I'm not very knowledgeable in Harry Potter, but... expectus prototypus?

I like those twiddly knobs for the deck-lid and bonnet, were those specially made or from a car of the period?

Me too. There has been total silence since the Hessisch Oldendorf show in June. I hope the guys have been busy getting some interesting work done.
