1971 Coupe went for $15k
I think it was a nice result for both parties!

Obvious the interior is 100 percent original. I think the paint is too except for the repaired sections. I can’t see any overspray or delamination or bondo cliffs but maybe I’m missing something? Mechanicals look like they need some love. This one should sell for big money. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

Interior is not 100% original..............What about the carpet? It appears as not original and Installed improperly (look at photographs). It still seems to be a nice Ghia, but I question the seat upholstry and the carpet. |

Carpet is 100% original.
Notice the cross hatch like pattern on the rub pads, no one reproduces that. The edging and small weave wool carpets are not reproduced either that I am aware of.
Yes, the carpets have pealed off the surface as the glue has failed over the years and someone used what looks to be self tapping screws to keep them in place, but they can be removed and properly glued.
I was totally wrong about the paint. Seller notes it was repainted. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

Not reproduced now but it was as a ZVW in the 1970s. It may be original, certainly not questioning the integrity of the current owner but VW usually had their interior pieces sewn straight and not all crooked. I owned a 1969 Ghia that was 1 year old and the color elm green which matches this came with black or fawn color interior. This is a case of me wanting to , and I did, buy a new Ghia in 1972 which I remember was elm green (or there abouts) and a fawn color interior. Carpet was fawn also. |

All of the interior is factory correct in my opinion. I compared these photos to my 68 and it all matches perfectly. The condition of the interior is amazing. Nobody is making these later Ghia interiors that even come close to accurately reproducing these details. _________________ Marc

The only green available for 69 was L62K Cypress Green, which came with either Light Sand or Khaki Brown interior.

My car's twin (my car being slightly older). There aren't too many pictures of Cypress Green out there and all the pics posted serve as good reference photo should I decide to restore my Ghia back to original. _________________ 69 karmann ghia |

No reserve auction! This should be interesting. Would you buy it if the price was so low? _________________ 1956 Beetle Oval Rag top with Judson SC

Sorry! maybe not enough coffee yet! Being a No Reserve auction, the question is would anybody consider buying it with its known horrible stigma if the price was right? _________________ 1956 Beetle Oval Rag top with Judson SC

That turd sold for $68k at Barrett, my guess is the owner figured out it was screwy and is trying to dump it on some other unsuspecting chump. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!
