I decided to replace my window rubber as mine is original and very dry. The gasket around the rear window also has a separation in it and I don't want water getting in there. I just got the kit I ordered today and I got more than I expected. I ordered three rolls of the plastic beading because that's what the car has now. I saw where they make aluminum trim pieces that fit in the grooves of the rubber, but my intent was to do it like it was originally. When I ordered the rubber kit, I thought that was all I was getting. When I opened the box, I was surprised to find I got the aluminum trim as well. Now I need to make a decision as to which ones to use. Would I be better off putting it back like original or do the aluminum strips work better? What is the procedure for installing the aluminum strips? I actually have a tool to install the plastic beading that I bought a few years ago when I had my '74 Mercury Capri. It had the same type of beading which I replaced. If I go with the aluminum strips, I'm definitely sending the plastic beading back because the three rolls were around $90. Which is the better one to go with?

Better find out what style of trim the rubber are designed to use, the groove is different on each, figure that out before you send anything back. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.
