the guy that spotted it says, on a dutch forum, that the front looked like a db5 or 6. so most likely a butchered type 3 on a front engined chassis trying to look like a convertible aston. _________________ "we're here on Earth to fart around" kurt vonnegut

Some think that if your beetle has a padded dash, it's an engine donor. Some think that if it has push button door handles, it's a boat anchor.
Do what you want. Ignore the elitists. Drive your VW. Enjoy life. |

Not any I know of. Checked with some car app groups and they also came back with Sunbeam Alpine but the lines seem to be slightly different and I agree the door handle position looks like VW 1500. Maybe it will show up somewhere else this summer. |

Would it be more plausible if the rotors were blurred? (Not the conception, but the authenticity of the bastard.) |

I'm thinking it was scratch built. 20 sheets of Home Depot sheet metal. 40 gallons of Bondo. _________________ Chris

That rear wheel arch is all compound curves and has a dent in it. Looks like donor steel to me. If someone was talented enough to build those panels out of steel, I would guess they were talented enough to make it all look better. _________________ nothing |

I can't breathe so if it's a neon and a beetle. Is it a fire fly?
