'68 Beetle in popular TV show "The Rockford Files"- season 1 episode 22 from 1975 named "Roundabout". Los Angeles, California based private investigator Jim Rockford (James Garner) is hired to deliver an inheritance check to a recipient located in Las Vegas, Nevada. He researches Nancy Wade's last known address, flies there and finds her (played by Jesse Welles). Antagonists are after her in their red Lincoln Town Car, which Rockford first follows in her bright green '68 Beetle. Bonus sighting of Splittie and Bay Window busses in background.
Bonus sighting of green dune buggy.
The antagonists then spot the Beetle and give chase, with Rockford driving into a building construction zone.
Rockford runs through a tight space between heavy construction vehicles where the Lincoln can't follow. The space is so tight that the front fenders break off, but Rockford gets away.

saw a 'new' episode of war factories on yesterday (series 3 ep4) which was about ferdinand porsche. I wasn't impressed. the handful of talking heads 'experts' were trying to outdo each other with eye boggling amazing 'facts' and the vintage footage was often of the wriong period (nazi time frame but showing post war cars) or even the wrong thing completely - sherman production line when talking about porsche tiger development! _________________ "we're here on Earth to fart around" kurt vonnegut

Kuebelwagen in German movie "Rommel" (2012), a mostly fact-based depiction about the final seven months in the life of German WW2 Field Marshal Erwin Rommel. The left officer (Rommel) is the actor Ulrich Tukur.
Near the Obersalzberg by Berchtesgaden, southern Bavaria, Germany.
The large black open staff car is a Horch 830, per IMCDB.

Not in this commercial, Cusser. I searched YouTube for older commercials from LiMu and did not see a Beetle. I'm sure we'd have quickly picked up on one. Maybe it's being prepared for a future one?!
I just looked at the photo again; did you notice the yellow-painted Hazet-style tool cart behind the Duster? |

"Where Eagles Dare" (1968) movie was set in WW2 Austria, near Salzburg including the village of Werfen where the actual castle is located. Many Kuebelwagen are used by the German military in the village and at the airfield.
Main character Maj. Smith (Richard Burton) kneeling next to a Kuebel with a shot soldier.
Other Kuebels are shot at by two of Smith's team in a snowplow bus at the airfield, and flip over.
From the documentary "The making of "Where Eagles Dare"", 1968.

What’s odd is he’s laying under the Duster and and pulls a ignition distributor out from underneath. _________________ 1973 standard, yellow, lowered, 3” narrowed front, 1600 blo-thru turbo w/single dell 15.4@86, so far

I'm thinking you're bluffing. I mean fin-ster... Surely that's a pseudonym for aquaman, or shark-boy? Definitely something fishy... _________________ Andy
