I started on a set of 16"s the other day.
Here they are aircraft chemically stripped, glass bead blasted. One was sanded to 600 and then wet sanded to 2000. Now the polishing begins.
Polished out but not buffed with rouge yet.

Also, has anyone been able to get in touch with Al Reed Polishing lately? All I ever get is their voicemail, and they never returned my call. |

i just got a set of fuchs, but PO painted the spokes and lip instead of polishing.
i am planning to go for the detailed painted look.
after polishing, do I need to re anodize the rims? |

It depends on what look you are after. If you want brightly polished spokes, don't anodize. If you want the factory satin look, anodize them. _________________

Are there any new shops that have come up in the last decade or so?
I know that on the Porsche side there are a couple of shops that do Concours level restorations. _________________ Cheers,

I just found out that Al and Diane Reed have retired :
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-used-pa...ement.html
Although I've never personally used them, I believe my alloys were plated by them years ago. Al Reed seemed to be THE name out there when it came to restoring alloys.
Who is everyone using now? _________________ My Beetles :
