Hi!

I need information about the Bosch distributor.

JFU 4
0 231 146 113
311 905 205 AJ

Basic info, advance graph and vacum canister partnumber?

I can find almost the same number (113 905 205 AJ) on Google.
Are these basicly the same, but one is a typ3 motor and the other is a typ1 motor?

Thanks.

Type 3 around 1971, manual trans

Good starting point on tune up parts-

Points: 01 011
Condensor: 02 054
Rotor: 04 033
Cap: 03 010

According to oldvolkshome similar distributors list the above tune up parts. The type 1 version uses the above.

I would expect in a heavier car like a type 3 it may have less advance under load than a type 1 but not sure on the curves.

Is there any problem to use in beetle stock 1300/1600 engine?

I am running a similar type III distributor AND d-jetronic in my 63 Bette. It will work with the type III initial ignition settings, but you will need a vacuum port that is in the same position in relation to the throttle as the one used on the throttle body in the type III. A vacuum port in the middle of the venturi will not work correctly.

Do you have it in hand? You might try it. Make sure to check the max advance. From the chart you can get 40 degrees max advance which is a lot.
