Spent yesterday digging out some interior of a rotted westy. Most will clean up pretty nice, I'll make patterns and replace rotted wood where necessary.

crazy, did you have to do anything for clearances inside the wheel wells? it looks great. the height looks improved but is that just the aspect ratio? the interior stuff looks really satisfying , my 69 westy is all stock and sorely in need of all new stuff. really makes me want to tear it all down...

It is lifted maybe 2 inches via coil overs in the front and re index the spring plates in the back and longer shocks. Did my westy the same way but have nice fox shocks 2.0 coil overs up front and 2.0 adjustable shocks in the rear. Also longer axles and higher angle joints. No other body mods needed with the backspacing and tire section width it all clears just fine.

Been passing by a couch out for the trash on my way to work for a week now. Today decided to check and see if it's actual leather or what.

It was real leather so cut a ton of stitches and staples and saved about 20 pounds of leather.

I'll be recovering the top pop red vinyl panel with the suede side and maybe a few other things to tie it all together.

Here's the first test to see how it looks. Loving it.

Couldn't live with the rotten board running lengthwise on the passenger side, plus the hold downs ripped out. Gonna patch in a board for now and re staple the original canvas back on. I'll pocket screw the board to the end boards and construction adhesive along the lenght of it where it was originally bonded to the top.

That exact problem happened to my Riviera.
Thanks for the info about reattaching it.
I hadn't thought of construction adhesive...

Rot fixed, headliner replaced. Still need to do the trim.

Tried like hell to make the headliner out of a single piece of hardboard but no way a could get it crammed in there with having it going in several different bends and trying to wrestle it around it just wasn't possible. Maybe when I eventually pull the top for a new canvas I'll redo it but looks far better than the rotten crunchy old one.
