Lovely to see original carpet and its binding in such good condition, at least from the small part seen in this shot-

The researchers will be hard pressed to find the correct years for the “sport o matic” transmission.

Man that car?, wtf! So many sins to repent !

This is the most hideous Ghia I have seen lately. There is not any panel that is not slam full of dough and the paint matchings are terrible. Underneath isnt any better.....slathered in dough....interior is rough.

You can almost change a pulley belt with the deck lid closed... with that gap at the bottom.

I don’t even think the BAT crowd would pay that much for this.

It's in a field all it's own!! I would certainly think that it would have a limited market, but if someone wants this type of modified Ghia, they would probably be willing to pay more than I would!! Shocked

Worth $2k, no but that's what people have been asking recently. Hard to justify while there's a repro available: http://www.repuestossam.com/en/karman%20ghia/g016.html

A mere 90K- $120K and this 58 can be yours. (it is nice, tho). Big selling point is the "Era correct Sapphire I radio", which is also in my 66. Maybe I should be selling the radio?

What, no close up of the special radio? Very Happy

I took a look at the dash pics and it appears to have a 62-up Sapphire radio so not "era correct".

Well I guess we could ask what does "era correct" mean? I would think 1950s vs. 1960s but I guess it could also be "lowlight era," although I doubt they had the knowledge to go that way?

Anyways... A '58 wouldn't have a Sapphire radio, even an earlier one.
The earlier style is 1960-61 since they came out in 1960.

Earlier style Sapphire I for those wondering:

Ignore that this is in a Bus, same early Sapphire radio and knobs

This Ghia has been offered all over the internet during the last year. It's very well known on this Ghia Forum..."all that glisters is not gold": https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=9892454#9892454
