zehbeh, looks great. Can you tell me where you got the floor covering from? I have an SO42 and bought this but I don't like it as it is soft and I want something stiffer. I love your flooring, it looks a little like my table tops.

Thanks for posting the additional pics. The interior looks amazing and I'm blown away by the early curtains. Those are unobtanium and look brand new. Was he able to find a reproduction pattern or are they really in that great of shape?

Linda, as far as I know, Arvid bought the floor material from a hardware store. I will ask him, and let you know. Not sure if that is really helpful for you, because he bought it here in Germany.
Christian

Edit: I just asked Arvid: after a long search he got that stuff from a carpet shop some years ago. No idea if it is still available. Name of the shop was Aro

The curtains are the original ones, no reproduction
This is a picture of the interior before restoration

Two pics of the bus, as it was stored away. have a look at the roof rack. It was modified, to fit on the front of the car.

Can you let me know what the red knob is next to the wiper switch on the dash is. My dormy has a hole there as well and I have no idea what it’s for

The red knob is for the emergency flashers. Must be an upgrade. As far as I know, these weren‘t law when bought new in 65.

Emergency flashers became mandatory for newly built vehicles in Germany from 1970. They had to be fitted to all older vehicles latest in 1976. This is why all German splits mostly have aftermarket e-flasher knobs placed randomly on the dash...

Thanks zehbeh, my brother lives near the Bauhaus Hardware Store in Berlin. I’ll be there next summer therefore I’ll get his wife who is tech savvy try some searching before I arrive. I think that has stopped my SO42 kit install. I love your texture and pattern.
