This is another neat factor in my Ghia.
I believe this was a one owner car as my friend big Blair never transferred the title to him. I have now gotten a new title in my name the Ghia is registered and insured with a very special plate I’ve been saving

Looks like Mr. Stumpo moved to Az from Va in 1962 I would assume retiring from the service February 5 1962

Then it looks like it had an engine fire and was traded in at Lou Grubb on a brand new 1986 box Chevy April 23 1986

This is still a valid address in sun city where it’s a very common place to retire in your older age here in Arizona. I called the phone number in all different area codes and none worked

Then from Lou grubb was traded to another car lot on the same day

And then another and then Blair bought it and stashed it in his backyard until about 2 years ago when he passed away. I’ve now owned this car since February
I absolutely love this Ghia and the original paint pacific blue patina

Is this the correct nozzle for '61 Ghia? I thought this was for a Porsche.

Thanks for all these great original interior photos. I've got a younger sibling to this, a 61 coupe, 3637777 from 28 February 1961 birthday. I've had it a long time, interior was completely replaced when I got it. Your body and interior is in much better shape.

Here's my original 61 nozzle after a bad overspray in the 70s over the original Pampas Green.

Because this is my car I can do want I want to it so I changed the wheels, I want to lower it just a little but also really like the og wheels and caps so I’m undecided right now. The tires on the og wheels were starting to separate

Well the stock wheels just look best on the bone stock Ghia so back to those
Did some pictures at my grandparents over the weekend and I’ve put about 5000 kilometers on the car now and still haven’t rebuilt the original brakes

I should've submitted my vote for the Sprint Stars... but switching them over only takes about 1/2 hour. At least your OG smoothie rims are still correctly factory-painted. Great that you've already driven a few thousand so far.

What's the reason for the Scirocco emblem on the engine lid?

Both sets of wheels look good
The Scirocco emblem is just for fun I had to drill 3 holes in the decklid to mount it and that’s ok because it’s got the wrong decklid on it. Everyone asks about it lol

Still looking for a nice OG paint pacific blue 60-62 decklid if anyone has one stashed away. I’d pay up to $500 but probably have to more that that. Needs the foot long Karmann Ghia emblem. Y’all have no idea how much I want the correct decklid and script

I've got a hood and decklid I picked up with a bunch of other parts that may fit the year and color you are looking for at another location. I'll be heading there next weekend and will snap pics for you to look at to see if it's what you need. If so, we can work out the details. Will keep you posted. It would def fit your patina look.
