Quarter panel, this is the quality of the paint on the finished panels.
Hey Rome, i did notice the screw non-conformity, at least some of the problem was because I allowed the upper leg to twist when I tightened the upper nut.
I’m not sure i noticed a height difference though, although i will be checking that now you’ve made me think about it |

needs door windows, and a bunch of other detail things
No engine, so rear high. Needs a nose-lift, its low without seats and a fuel tank. |

this is a pretty cool build!
thanks for sharing
couldn't help but notice that there were no heads on your engine.
any details on the powerplant? or did you start a separate thread? _________________ 71 Ghia A/S - 88 Van A/T - 13 JSW TDI 6M/T |

Hey, thanks
Heads are WIP, I have them and seats, and valves... just not shmushed into an assembly yet. Valves are sized, profiled and have seats ground. Seats are ready for the pushing. Heads are ported and have guides fitted. Guides are not reamed, Exhaust seat pockets are not cut.
No separate build, it is a 2258cc, or 96 bore x 78 stroke.
Cam is a Web Camshaft 86b/86c, which is 300/310 advertised duration.
Heads have Ø45 and Ø37 Manley Valves modified to modern profiles.
Carbs are twin 48's with manifolds from Orratech.
Exhaust isn't built yet, but will be a pair of 2 into 1's. Meaning only cylinders 1 & 3 will exit through one valance cut out. And 2 & 4 through the other. This makes the exhaust completely pulse separated and pretty light weight. The reason for this is that the 4:1 setups can't pulse tune due to their incredible long primary length, so they really just add weight. This is not an opinion, we ran the model of the 4:1 on GT Power and it added nothing. |

This first image is of a custom bracket machined from 3/4” steel plate. Its gusseted and powder coated. It connects the original shock tower to the new shock tower and has 2 supporting bolts further inboard. It basically takes some of the suspension loads off the chassis forks and sends it into the original shock towers that were designed to handle these loads.
Headliner installation, you can see the low density foam sound deadening. Whats harder to see is the high density sound deadening underneath. Its in the roof, doors quarter panels, all over the floor and rear luggage area.

With the steering rack theres not enough space for the original fuel tank. My original plan was to remove just enough tank to clear the rack. But I ended up replacing the complete lower clam to increase tank capacity as much as i could.

Thanks ‘soup. Heres some more updates.
Gave up waiting for my heads to be built, id like to get her running this year!
So i have Remmele ‘Combo’ heads on order, that means i was able to buy a good off-the-shelf Bug exhaust from CSP. So i have a Evolution Competition system on its way.

Somebody else asked me that too, whats the purpose? If its corrosion, which is what I assumed, when I opened the tank it had no corrosion in there. If the idea is sealing maybe that’s worth considering. |

Thanks appreciate the feedback
IDF's actually.
Cam runs to 7500rpm, not quite GT3 territory, but not very 1963 44hp like either |
