Hi all, just acquired a European camper and was wondering if any of the electrical equipment can be converted to us electric. Theees a tuna tic 1800 heater and an Electrolux fridge. And associated thermostats etc . Thanks. |

Oh sorry, I do have 12v and AC but was concerned about shore power. Also I’m in the US trying to convert a camper that originated out of germany |

Yes, it’s German with two round prongs… the refrigerator is an Electrolux ac/dc, propane fridge. Eventually we’ll replace it, but we have no time to order a new one before a trip we planned. I guess we’ll just use it on dc and propane…. |

We’ll, I decided to pull that box out to find out what it is… turns out it’s a German shore power battery charger built in March 1995. Wow! It must weigh 25pounds!! That is permanently out now….. |

To help people understand what you have, you need to identify what your van is as we all recognize it. It's a Vanagon / Transporter / Westfalia. Just calling it a European camper we could assume that it is Mazda Bongo or other vehicles we don't get in the states.
I saw that Ad and thought it wasn't as clear as it could have been. I would guess that the box is some kind of AC/DC converter for when you are parked and you want to use your cabin lights or anything DC powered. Follow the wires and see where they go.
