I can not seem to find a supplier in USA that sells the correct two seals for the dog house oil cooler exit tin. I see them available in UK online but not USA. Seems like a somewhat important seal set. Isn't anyone in USA using them??
Where are you guys getting yours from?

I just ordered a set of the tins for a project and those seals came included.

Might email those guys? Or any large VW parts vendor...likely they'd have them?.
FWIW it's just a rubber seal. Any high temperature rubber bead, or even high temp RTV would do the same thing. There's nothing very special about them. _________________

I have contacted several and the one or two that have replied are clueless.
I saw you get them when you order the tins but cheapest was 18.95 plus shipping it is almost $40 for just those two little seals shipped.
The seals are pretty unique, I dont want to just rig something in there, this is a nice restoration I want the correct seals that I know is going to fit and function right. I don't want to have to yank the engine 2 weeks from now to re do it because a rig job failed.
Was just hoping someone out there has purchased these at one time from a vendor and can hook me up with who that was. |

I don't think they are that critical other than to keep the parts from rattling. Since you can't see them, I'd just use some generic rubber trim. _________________ 2017 Street Comp Champion - Thunder Valley Raceway Park - Noble, OK

Yup that is the only two I found. Both in the UK and I am in USA. Shipping was like $30 alone. Though at this point just considering buying a couple sets and be done with it....LOL |

Split some fuel hose with a razor blade and glue it on.
I’ve run my VW shop for 39 years in Hot South Florida.
I bet I’ve seen 95% of the cars that come into my shop are missing these seals……and they are still being driven reliably daily and Not melting down. _________________ Drag bus! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2MOVmKdhX4

You could check a place called "Franklin's VW Werks" in Kent WA. I know he had a room full of used tins a couple of years ago. Definitely worth checking if you still need. Good luck. |

I'm sure everyone here will say this is ghetto, but just putting tape over the joints works a LOT better than those rubber seals do. Foil HVAC ducting tape works great. _________________ drive your split. |

Ive used that before and works great at sealing joints. Too bad it doesnt come in black.
Home Depot has a good selection of weatherstripping also that will work |
