Then $6.519 for ethanol-free super in Bly OR on the way back home.

A recent 500 mile round trip into central WA saw prices anywhere from $4.03 to just under five bucks a gallon.

It was much cheaper at a freeway truck stop than it was in a small farming town a few miles off the freeway. In the past, it has been the direct opposite.

Costco for the win - $2.85 gallon.

I was driving my Avalanche as my daily driver (since I gave my 2011 Ford Fusion to my daughter who just got her license) and getting 16mpg. And, filling that 31 gallon tank hurt my feelings and wallet.

I just bought a 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid and have been getting 44mpg. Filled up the 12.8 gallon tank this morning and it cost me $28.46 for about 10 gallons.

Heard a rumor that prices might be jumping up soon. Drove the big truck to work today and filled up the 35 gallon tank for $4.25 per gallon. An hour later, the price had jumped a dime. Neighboring towns jumped 40-50 cents in the last couple days.

Here we go again.

In San Diego today it was $4.99/gallon cash (real green money, not debit) for regular at the Summit station on Sports Arena Blvd. across from Home Depot. Cheapest place around. We go to Costco next week so we will take the car with the lowest fuel levels.

I didn’t appreciate paying $6.09 a gallon for regular (87) in Santa Cruz, California or $6.19 in Yreka, CA yesterday. I wouldn’t call that cheap oprn. I’m currently in Southern Oregon. Hopefully the prices are better today.
