Been planning for a number of years (Bought and sold many base cars) but ready to start again on a convertible tribute
Shop is clean (63 is on a boat to belgium)
Recently pulled in a pre ‘55 convertible pan. It's in rough condition but good for a base
1st goal is to get a decent base. Not ready to restore. Just decent pans as a foundation

I can literally smell this picture. Like you I was in the shop for a full day getting every bolt loose with heat and penetrating oil, and then running a tap through everything. Afterwards I was exhausted and threw my clothes into the wash without thinking. And the next day the washer and dryer reeked of liquid wrench, and nothing would get it out. The wife was not happy, and I ultimately ended up pulling the washer apart so I could scrub out the inner drum.
How are all of the cable tubes on that pan? Is that one torsion bar stuck? _________________ modok wrote:

Lol. I learned a long time ago to wash the Blaster of ASAP. keeps the wife happy
I don’t think torsion is stuck. I put it in last summer. It just sat outside for a while and it didn’t fall out like other one. I got a throttle cable stuck in there. Might need a new tube. Whole bottom needs replaced, so might be easier just to run new.
Only reason I would say the chassis is it a ribbed door convertible _________________ '67 deluxe bus w/the little windows

pre '55 'vert rear clips are near impossible to find. I'm going to modify this ~'62-'63 unless something comes along. It was cut in 2 before I found it.
The split parcel tray needs some help. Mika will have the patches soon

No progress lately. Daughter is finishing ballet, Spring has spring with yard work and her soft ball games keeping me busy.
But…. Got this super cool NOS a-pillar support.
Wish I would have scored on if the front quarter listed a couple weeks back.😕 _________________ '67 deluxe bus w/the little windows

Cleaning the shop to make room for my bus. Haven’t done much of anything. But drug stuff outside to clean. The 60s front is going to give way to a crotch cooler clip I picked up. Also have the rear seat to dig out

I see that the pieces of the puzzle are getting together.. The doors however, are from a ... Hebmuller that I know and came from Belgium long time ago. The doors are lower as split karmann doors. _________________ Zelensis, glassfibre body made in Belgium , disigned and built on a VW platform About 25 body's built.

I came across the doors years ago in a trade of some other early metal.
I’ve toyed with the idea of Hebmuller replica. Actually had a cowl and rear deck lid (fiber glass) but sold to a friend of mine joe in Canada. _________________ '67 deluxe bus w/the little windows

The rear clip was cut in two pieces. I bolted it in place on my ‘52 pan. Then tack welded. I’m guessing I’ll do the same for the front clip. I’ll probably put the doors on and set gaps and weld them in place with some small pieces of strap steel. Then get the channels tacked in place.
The big question I have been thinking about is putting in the correct windshield frame. That ones more difficult. _________________ '67 deluxe bus w/the little windows
